IDEA Asia Pacific Summer Camp 2018

 

The Innovation x Diversity x Entrepreneurship Education Alliance(hereinafter referred to as the “IDEA”) consortium comprising Kyushu University as leading university and Ritsumeikan University, Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), and Osaka Prefecture University (OPU)as partner universities has been selected by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as an Exploration and Development of Global Entrepreneurship for NEXT generation(EDGE-NEXT)Program for FY2017.

As a collaborative event of this IDEA consortium, it plans to hold a Summer Camp every year. As a trial in FY 2017, we organized the Summer Camp at Kyushu University with the keyword of “From zero to team”. Participants could experience of speed that they could create team from an idea and present to investors and entrepreneurs in 20 hours.

In this year 2018, “IDEA Asia Pacific Summer Camp 2018” as social innovation program utilizing design thinking will be hold at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (“APU”) from September 10th to 13th, 2018 (3nights 4days.). Participants in the program will take on the challenge of identifying and solving problems through special lectures, fieldwork in Beppu City, group work and presentations over the camp’s three-night, four-day duration.

An overview of the camp program follows. Interested students are asked to carefully check the below before applying.

1.Dates: September 10 – 13, 2018 (three nights, four days)

2.Location:  Ritsumeikan Center for Asia Pacific Studies (“RCAPS”) and AP House at APU

3.Participants: Students predominantly from institutions participating in IDEA (Kyushu University, Ritsumeikan University, Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Osaka Prefecture University, etc.)

4.Number of Applicants: approx. 40

5. Language to be used: English

6.Cost to Participate: None (For Kyushu University students, the cost of transportation to campus will be covered by QREC. For the others, please contact to appropriate department of the university where you belong to.)

8.Application to participate: After checking the below important points of note, please fill out the online survey.

①For traveling expense claims and/or allowances, please check with the university of each affiliation about how to apply, amounts etc.
②For Students from Kyushu University; Should the number of actual applicants exceed the number sought, participants will be selected following consideration of the content of their answers to the online survey.
For others; Please follow the instruction of each university.
③ Being absent on the days of the camp will not be permitted.
