Lecture information

Challenge & Creation 2023 Adopters Decided!

The judging for Challenge & Creation 2023 was held at Fukuoka Growth Next on Saturday, May 20.
This year, 29 applications were received.
The judging was conducted in two stages, the first and second rounds, with presentations made in front of a panel of five judges (three external judges).

◆First round: Application form + 2-minute presentation (no Q&A)
　　◆Second round (those who pass the first round): 3-minute presentation + Q&A session

Judging was based on ¡) originality, ¡¡) specificity, and ¡¡¡) impact, and 8 out of 29 projects were selected.

The selected teams will receive up to 500,000 yen in funding to realize their plans.
After about a year, the results reports will be reviewed again, and the best teams will be awarded next March.

　　　　The “Start-up Challenge” is a program for students immediately after entering the Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship
　　　　(CSE: Chalmers University of Technology), a highly regarded graduate school for entrepreneurship education in the field of technology.
　　　　This is a team competition program to see how much you can increase your capital (1,000 SEK (≈15,000 yen)) in one week.
　　　　Participants learn the importance of taking action & learning from action.

Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2023

Propose solutions to social issues and a system that can continue to turn them around!
Through programs in Japan and a local program in Boston, U.S.A., participants will learn the startup founding process from team formation to establishing the initial business idea.
Teams develop a business plan while attending workshops led by leading experts, entrepreneurs, and investors from companies in Japan and abroad.
Students will also create a prototype, and finally present the results of their work at a presentation meeting!

*This is an upper-year course, so the target grade is sophomore or above in the undergraduate school.
*Attendance at this information session is a prerequisite for registration.
*Registration for the QREC course “Global Seminar (undergraduate students) / Advanced Lecture in Global Seminar (graduate students)” is required for this course.
*This program includes approximately 8 days of domestic program and participation in both Boston training programs.
*This course and information session will be conducted in English.
*All expenses for travel, lodging, food, and local stay are to be borne by the student.

【2023】SDGs Entrepreneurship (KIKAN Education Subjects for Students in the Second Year and Above)

Let’s learn about social business as advocated by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Professor Yunus and
think about what we can do to achieve the SDGs!

Yunus and Shiiki Social Business Research Center will assist the class

The purpose of this program is to teach knowledge and applied skills to look at the SDGs and other issues and find solutions.
Students will learn about the SDGs at Kyushu University and in local training programs, acquire expertise in finding solutions to
social issues, and build a sustainable social business model. The theme of the course will be problem solving in emerging countries,
while utilizing the concept of design thinking,
The goal is to create a new product or service by using design thinking and incorporating field visits and research.

In this process,
・The importance and potential of entrepreneurship in various fields
・Grameen’s philosophy and approach to global social issues
・Social Issues in Emerging Countries
・On Design Methods in New Value Creation
The students will deepen their understanding of such issues as the following, and present a problem-solving model plan based on
the UNUS Social Business concept as a result of the class!

In this 2-day program, you will learn the theory and practice of entrepreneurship, with examples from a global perspective.

Lecture Guide

　This 2-day program, Dr. Yamakawa who is invited from Babson College, U.S.A., will provide participants with an opportunity to learn theory and practice, including case studies.
Dr. Yamakawa is a Ph.D. at Babson College, which is the No. 1 in entrepreneurship education in the United States.
Dr. Yamakawa, who is very popular, has written lectures and books related to fostering entrepreneurship around the world.
We hope that many people will attend this popular lecture, which will include case studies of failures and dilemmas he has faced.

The lecture will be given in collaboration with five universities and the Fukuoka School of Entrepreneurship (FSE).
There is no doubt that it will be a wonderful time for two days in July. We encourage you to register as soon as possible.
