Huang\/Entrepreneurship Center of Kyushu University (QREC)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: small;\">Professor &amp; Deputy Director General, Art, Science Technology Center for Cooperative Research, Kyushu University (KASTEC)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Professor Toru Tanigawa joined the Japan Development Bank (currently the Development Bank of Japan) in 1973. As a member of the bank, he was involved in various kinds of activities, including credit analysis, management planning, and international affairs (his assignments include Executive Director of the Los Angeles office of the bank). After he left the bank in 2000, he went to the United States as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, where he conducted a study on business incubation mechanisms and industry-academia collaboration systems in Silicon Valley. While he was there, he also worked on establishing a support organization for entrepreneurs, and acted as an advisor to start-up companies. In 2003, he assumed the position of Professor at Kyushu University. Professor Tanigawa took the lead at the university in building industry-academia collaborations, one of which was the Intellectual Property Management Center of Kyushu University. He has been in charge of the establishment of QREC, the entrepreneurship education and research organization, since 2009. Professor Tanigawa\u2019s fields of specialization are regional economic policy, entrepreneurship, and industry-academia collaboration. Professor Tanigawa graduated from the Faculty of Law, Kyoto University. Huang\/Entrepreneurship Center of Kyushu University (QREC)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\">Mr. Shingo Igarashi graduated from Otaru University of Commerce in 1983. He earned an MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business Sciences, University of Tsukuba in 2005. Before he joined Kyushu University in 2005, he had worked for the UFJ Bank (currently called the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ). As a member of the UFJ Bank, he was engaged in research and analysis of high-tech start-ups, and supported them in their business expansion, providing support to more than 300 new companies. He has served as a board member of the Advisory Board of the Japan Entrepreneurship Education Network for Higher Education (Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry), and has solid experience in entrepreneurship education.
