◆ Application Guidelines ◆

1. Outline

 Kyusoukai was established through a donation to Kyushu University Robert T. Huang/Entrepreneurship Center (QREC) from President Tadahisa Kagimoto, a graduate of Kyushu University School of Medicine and a founder of HEALIOS K.K. The purpose of Kyusoukai is to support the development of human resources who will support the future of Japan from Kyushu University by doing business.Kyusoukai Fund is looking for Kyushu University students who are aware of the current situation, recognize social issues that need to be solved, and wish to solve the problems by social implementation through business with a constructive and critical spirit.

2. Eligibility

 Kyushu University undergraduates and post graduate students.
 (Students studying abroad, having plan to study abroad, on a leave of absence can also apply.)

3. Students eligible for the fund

(1) Students who have a deep awareness of the current situation and can immerse themselves in thinking about it from diverse perspectives.
(2) Students who are aware of essential and major social issues that have not been solved yet and have a strong desire to “do something about it”.
(3) Students who can persistently work to solve social issues with a constructive and critical spirit, without being distracted by easy ideas and trends.
(4) Students who are able to solve problems through collaboration; who can find colleagues to work together on things that cannot be handled
   by themselves.
(5) Students who have a strong desire to grow up as human being through the activities of this fund

4. Required activities

(1) Verbalize your awareness of your own problems and define the social issues you want to solve.
(2) Devise a solution to the problem with a wide range of free ideas, regardless of trends or existing frameworks.
(3) Aiming for social implementation through business by testing hypotheses (=action) repeatedly of the solutions devised.
(4) Ensure the continuity of activities by engaging in dialogue with various people, including Kyusoukai mentors, to gain their endorsement and
   specific cooperation.
  ∗In the activities of the Fund, when taking new initiatives that are not bound by existing frameworks, we must allow for mistakes that can be recovered even if they appear to be a change of direction or a return to the drawing board and recognize them as a step forward when viewed from a bird’s eye view

5. Grants

(1) A grant of 1 million yen / year to 2.5 million yen / year will be provided. The amount will be determined based on the applicant’s concept
   and activity content.
(2) The grant will be paid in two times. The first payment will be made in August, and the second payment will be made in January after
   the interim report of the activities on December 19, (Tue). A final report on activities will be made on March13, (Wed).
(3) Since the grant payment is considered as income, grant recipients are required to file their own finalization tax returns.
(4) Face-to-face and remote support by QREC faculty and Kyusoukai members will be provided.

6. Activity schedule

 The activity period will be from August to December 2023 and from January to March 2024. Details of each activity will be reported in
the interim report in December 19, (Tue) and the final report in March13, (Wed).

8. Application method

Fill out the application form on the internet at the URL below and submit it to apply

 Application period: :April 3, 2023 (Monday) -May 31, 2023 (Wednesday)

9. Screening method and schedule

(1)  Primary screening; 
   Screening will be made based on the information provided in the application form.
   Results will be notified by e-mail by June 9 (Friday).

(2)  Second screening; 
   Screening will be made through individual hearings and interviews from June to July.
   Results will be notified by e-mail by July 7 (Friday).

(3)  Final screening
   Screening will be made by face-to-face individual interview on July 20(Thursday) at Ito Campus Center 5 building 7F conference room ToP.
   Results will be notified by e-mail by July 31 (Monday).

10. Documents to be submitted after adoption

(1) The following documents need to be submitted by August 10 (Thursday)
  -Pledge
  -Bank account information for grant transfer
(2) A briefing session for adopters will be held on August 18 (Friday)17:00-19:00
(3) A kick-off event for adopters will be held on August 19(Saturday)
