Introduction to Your Start-Up (English) [Fall Semester, FY2026]

Course Information

In this course, students will learn the mindset and practical skills needed to transform ideas into viable business opportunities—all in English. Through hands-on xperience with key entrepreneurial processes such as problem discovery, startup research, pitching, and hypothesis validation, participants will develop and refine their own business ideas.

The course also features guest lectures by entrepreneurs and industry experts active in Fukuoka, providing students with firsthand insights into Japan’s startup ecosystem and the realities of entrepreneurship. By learning, discussing, and presenting ideas alongside students from diverse cultural backgrounds, participants will strengthen both their global perspective and their English communication skills.

This course is ideal not only for students interested in entrepreneurship, but also for anyone who wants to create new value, tackle real-world challenges, and gain practical experience in an international learning environment.

■Schedule: Fall Quarter, Wednesdays, Periods 4–5 (2:50 p.m.–6:10 p.m.)

About the Five-University Partnership: Kyushu University, Seinan Gakuin University, Nakamura Gakuen University, Fukuoka University, and Fukuoka Dental College—all located in the western part of Fukuoka City—have entered into a partnership agreement with the aim of further enriching and enhancing their educational and research activities, improving the qualifications of their faculty and staff, and building cooperative relationships with the local community based on the outcomes of these activities.

About FSE: FSE stands for Fukuoka School of Entrepreneurship. The Fukuoka School of Entrepreneurship is one of the initiatives under the Fukuoka Future Creation Platform Project. Its goal is to establish a cross-university, shared platform for entrepreneurship education among universities in the Fukuoka metropolitan area, thereby opening the doors to entrepreneurship education for all college students in the region, fostering the development of individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, and attracting a diverse pool of talent to Fukuoka.
