Dr. Boo Edgar

Director, Gothenburg International Bioscience Business School, GIBBS

Boo Edgar has been appointed new Associate Professor at the University of Gothenburg ´s Sahlgrenska Academy. Previously, his main area of research was in the field of pharmaceutical development but he now focuses on the innovative power of biomedical research.

Among other things, he is conducting research into how the ability to embrace new ideas and entrepreneurship is influenced by attitudes, management and education.

Boo´s professional experiences and career development spans several areas within the pharmaceutical industry and life science area, including clinical pharmacology and clinical research, project management, R&D Strategy Development and leading a discovery and research company

Dr.Wong Poh Kam

Director for National Singapore University (NUS) Entrepreneurship Centre

Wong Poh Kam is concurrently a Professor at the School of Business, as well as Adjunct Professor  for NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy . He has published in numerous international refereed journals on innovation policy, industrial and competitiveness policy and technology entrepreneurship, and has also consulted widely for international agencies such as the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, various government agencies in Singapore such as A*STAR, EDB and IDA, and many high tech firms in Asia.

An entrepreneur who co-founded three companies prior to joining academia, he is now an active angel investor and/or board member of several high tech start-ups in Silicon Valley, Singapore, China and Malaysia. He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at U.C. Berkeley and a visiting researcher at Stanford University and KTH, Sweden. He received a Public Administration Medal (Bronze) from the Singapore Government in 2005.
